Learning styles

My learning style results are more towards the visual and tactile areas. Ive notice in classes and and studying for test, I seem to do better if I can read things about what is being taught. If a teacher is just talking and Im not taking notes, I'm really bad about zoning out during the lecture. In high school, I had a history teacher who would just talk the whole class every class and it was the only C i got in high school.

group proposal

This week was pretty productive for our presentation. I completed the brochure which is about half of it. The brochure will go along with our movie outlining the main points. The br0chure targets middle age americans. We plan to target younger adults with the movie.

Group Name: Undecided (help!)
Members: Clay, Luke, Derrick
Project: To raise awareness of the harmful effects of a war that is supposed to be helping us
Audience:18-40/college students
Media: Pamphlet/movie or video

In class we made up our minds to make a video and to make a pamphlet to pass around. We are still trying to think of an organization and the purpose of that organization. We could go with profit or nonprofit organizations for a lot of things but we haven't found the best suited for the assignment.

What would you do

What would you do if you had a very good friend who is going off the deep end with drugs. I've got a friend who for the three times I've seen him he could barely talk he was so messed up. I have lost touch a litle bit since moving to muncie but other friends say its all he ever does anymore. I'm not exactly an angel but when he is snorting and taking pills I should probably say something shouldn't I? I don't really care if he does but when hes doing it for like a week straight then I don't think thats good.

My day of no class

Today I had no classes. For my first I dropped it because Im not real sharp when it comes to math. The other class was canceled for the rest of the week. Here is how I have spent my day. I sleep till around ten and I recieve a call asking if I want to go to breakfast. I agree because I would feel bad if I didn't. After I eat, I walk back to my room to sleep until about 5 minutes ago. Pretty awesome huh? Sleep might still be in the forcast for later today, you never know.

Job

I have just gotten my first job since I moved to Muncie and I have to say I'm not very excited. When I worked in my home town, I landscaped. The job I start on monday is a teachers aid for an after school program. Kids aren't exactly my specialty. I like to work hard and with my hands. I tried getting a job as a landscaper here but I could never get a hold of the company through work study. Another thing, work study sucks. They do give you a scholarships but the jobs are very limited.

Night Class

Night class is something that seems different to me all together. Being a freshman, I still am kind of used to waking up early for school. I never gave much thought to school in the evenings. I have one class from 630 to 745 at night. I have to say I love it. You feel so much better it seems in the evenings. I notice that I am more focused which has to help my performance. I am going to take three night classes next semester.

Texting

Texting to me is so annoying. I mean it has its perks and all when you don't feel like talking. My grandma for instance can talk your head off on the phone but if you text her it ends pretty quickly. But still text after text after text gets on my nerves. I hate when I have to have a 3 hour conversation texting the whole time. I'm not saying I would rather not have it, I just don't like having to text every two minutes for a long time.

Home

I don't know about everyone else, but I love to go home. Not only do I get to see alot of my good friends who stayed in town but I get to see my family too. I can tell my dad really enjoys when I go home. I hang out with him alot when I do because he gets lonely when I'm gone. I do have a brother and sister too but they are really wrapped up in thier own things so he enjoys me because I hang w. him the whole time I'm at my house. I enjoy his company as much as he does mine so its great to be home.

Bejewled Blitz

For those Bejewled Blitz players out there on facebook, I want to know how you do it. I've played Bejewled Blitz hundreds of times since I was introduced to it when I first got to campus. It is a pretty cool game. The objective is to get as many colored blocks in a row with three as the minimum. My very best score is around 175, 000. People on there are throwing up scores more than twice mine. This is what I cant understand. I think I just dominate when I play and my scores can barely be improved. I have no clue how people do it.

Mexico: Drug War

The Drug war that is being fought in Mexico has been proved more difficult than ever thought. More than 6300 people have died since December 2006 of drug related murders. The killings have came across the border of Mexico and Americans are dieing too. Mexico is on the verge of collapse because of America's demand for drugs. America has to take a lot of the blame too because almost ninety percent of the weapons used in Mexico come from the U.S.A. Gun laws in Mexico make it almost impossible to buy guns, but since the laws are weak in the United States, people buy them here and then smuggle them into Mexico. The United States are helping buy sending millions of dollars in helicopters and intelligence to help fight this war.

MLIA

I found a pretty cool website today. The website is mylifeisaverage.com. The site is basically a big blog about instances people have had during thier day. It is filled with comedy and irony. Here is one example "Today, I was reminiscing with my mom about my childhood. I found out that I learned to tie my shoelaces at age 3. All the preschool kids would line up for me to tie their shoes. I was a child prodigy. MLIA". Maybe not funny to you but I love the stories that are told. Definitely made my night.

Peer editing

Does the writer have a second thesis, distinct from the song analysis? Does that thesis make a significant argument that synthesizes or brings together the song and the book by identifying a mutual literary element?

This is the thing on the peer reviews that will help me the most. I didn't realized that the book analysis was supposed to be seperate so my whole essay is tied to Ishmael's book. I would say this will help my grade out.

Lap Top

Ever since I have gotten to college, there is one thing I regret buying. I'm not saying I don't love my lap top but I really don't think its necessary. As a student of ball state, I have resources to computers everywhere. These computers not only are just as good as my computer, they have software that mine doesn't even have. I have to say spending money on a lap top isn't necessary. The money I spent could have been used on my tution, a good time, or whatever. Printers are another unnecessary thing that people bring. By paying tution, we have access to these things for free. I wish I woulda done the research and maybe I could be a little richer right now.

So boring!

I am currently sitting in a class right now and its downright rough. The guy drones on for and hour and 15 like nothing. He will hit the same points in his lecture more than five times no lie. Not only that the class is way to easy anyway and everyone in class gets it but still he just keeps going. The class is kind of a computer and math class combined. We just recently went over microsoft word which almost all has used for quite sometime and adding and subtracting decimals. O well, I guess I'll get a good grade.

video games and my brother

Video games is an obsession for my brother. He plays ALL the time. The problem is though, my dad cant tell him enough is enough. The reason is kind of complicated for a parent and I understand why my dad doesnt say anything. Chase gets extremely good grades, and along with that he has never been in trouble a day of his life. Chase does has friends but it just seems like he isn't interested in things that normal sophmores in highschool would be. When I was his age I was girl crazy and getting in trouble. Chase on the other hand stays up till 6 or 7 on the weekends not doing what I did, but playing video games. I mean Chase is a better kid than what I was but in the long run will it be better for him?

Connersville Spartans

So, i got back just a second ago from my old high schools football game. Despite getting rained on most of the game and freezing, i am very glad i decided to go. Let me give you a brief overview of the Connersville Spartans. They are not what a person would call good. True, they do have a coach who is one of the best guys i have ever have the priviledge of meeting, but spartans lack talent and size that would make them a good football team. For the past 7 years or so spartans have won one game a year, every year. But this year, half way through the season, they have already won two!!!! This is terribly exciting news and I am glad I just witnessed the 37 to 36 victory. Good luck for a couple more to the spartans.

My least favorite tv show

In my opinion, Extreme Home Makeover is torture to watch. I kind of liked it the first few times I seen it but after that I was just seeing the same thing over and over, just with different people. Every show starts out with people telling their sad story, then the builders come to the rescue and everyone cheers and hugs. Next they show how horrible the house is which some aren't that terrible. Then the building is on and everytime they just barely make it in time. (Seriously this happens everytime) Finally the people come home and cry and hug some more. The show is just so repetitive I can never tell if I am watching a rerun or not.

Ishmael Beah

I listened to an interview of Ishmael Beah and I heard him say something that was very true. He said most people have a romantic view of war. People don't really realize how terrible a war can be to witness and go through. I think their attitudes are reflected by movies and how it is portrayed by people who also haven't experienced such things. Ishmael tells the horrible side and as you listen you realize their was nothing cool about it.

Yankees

Yankees are definitely the hottest team in baseball right now. With a 90 and 50 record, the yankees have pretty much guaranteed a playoff spot. With a 9 game lead, the sox are the closest team to catching them but its never going to happen. Yankees have the best record and baseball and i dont think its going to be touched this year. Go Yankees!!

The hardest class

For being in college for three weeks now I have come to one conclusion. Triginometry is definitely my hardest class. The class is absolutely ridiculous in how hard it is to comprehend. I think I am going to have to get a tutor but I don't know how much it will help.

Movies

I am a rather big fan of tv and movies. I basically like all types of movies except for scary movies. I never could understand how anyone likes them. I mean fear is a negative emotion right? So why would anyone pay or even want to watch something thats going to bring bad feelings to them then? I do understand though that some people do like them i just dont understand why. Personally my favorite movies are funny ones. Some at the top of the list are Super Bad, Pineapple express, knocked up, and all adam sandler movies.

Memoir

I think my memoir paper is going to be about an experience when i was younger when i ran away from home. I was probably around 5 or 6 and the day before, my mom took me to toys r us. The next moring I had the great idea that I would drive my electric army jeep there and just live in the store and could play with all the toys all day everyday. A mile or so down the road my jeeps battery started to die and fortunately my neighbor passed by and seen me. He loaded my jeep up and took me back. After the punishment and the parents calmed down things around the house started to go back to normal i realized maybe my home wasnt so bad after all

Micheal Vick

I think Micheal Vick was treated too harshly in punishment for his crime of fighting dogs. For those who don't know, Micheal Vick, a pro football player was caught in a raid of his property for having dog fighting rings and many dogs some who were even killed by evident fighting. Though Im sure it was a harsh scene, I still do not think two years in prison was fair in anyway. I think the only reason the punishment was so harsh was because he is a face in the news today and they used him as to set an example. That is the problem I see with the case because I think he should be treated as fairly as anyday average joe because we are all supposed to be equal.

Favorite Music Artist/Bands

My favorite type of music is rap. I like rap more than other types because rappers aren't afraid to say things that most are. Most rappers lived lives that were a lot different than the norm and it gives them things to say that is a lot different and most of the time controversial. My list of my favorite musicians is first lil' wayne, second eminem, third doctor dre, fourth tupac, and fifth gorilla zoe.
